POST-APPRECIATION #1

I’d like to take a moment to say thanks. THANK YOU. You, the Post-Paris audience! In just three full months of on-off experiments, we reached 4300+ visitors from 47 countries! Wow, so thrilled to share the work of 50+ designers who presented at fashion weeks as far afield as Toronto, Copenhagen, Mumbai, Moscow, Minsk, Sao Paulo, Vancouver, and Istanbul. Together we are living up to #postparisfashion credo: What the World Wears. More to come! Meanwhile, in baby-steps mode, I want to enjoy and honor our first batch of firsts. Here are the Post-Paris Milestone Makers!

First WordPress Like, thank you! Michael Biro aka Global Garcon “spent most of his childhood growing up in the Canadian Rockies and developed his passion and love of all things fashion in high school”. Not only was Michael out first, he remains our most consistent like-giving reader. His own #FashionFave picks are always on point. Having just mused about socks in Museo del Traje Madrid, I also appreciated his taste in intimate footwear… Follow Global Garcon and his adventures!

First Blog Follower, thank you! cMw is a lifestyle blog that encompasses beauty, style and culture by Christina Maccarone and Matthew Willemse. You can also expect posts about food, travel, and entertainment by these two twenty-somethings as they navigate the world” … I loved their springtime insight “Let Your Outfit Be As Indecisive As Your Personality: Mixed Seasonality”. For me, growing up in (southern) Russia and going to school in New York’s North Country, mix-n-match sometimes meant flip-flops and mittens. Dear cMw, I approve this message.

First Commenter, thank you! Wonderful landscape and still-life photographer Cordia Murphy from New York engaged with the WEIRD-R-US aesthetics on Facebook: “I sorta like the looks. It’s better than … only a twist on some of the styles that I have seen over the 50 years of my adult life.” I agree and vow to further support forward-thinking designers! Check out Cordia’s tranquil work (spoiler: no zombies there) and give it some love, too!

First Social Media Sharers, thank you! TOM* designer Patrick Salonga became the first person to share our review on his Facebook page (The Salonga Era). Lakme Fashion Week designers QuirkBox were the first to re-tweet our giddy love letter for their summer collection on Twitter (Wanderlust, Redux). And Istanbul Fashion Week designer Önder Özkan posted a screenshot of his best-in-show review to Instagram, marking our first appearance there! Thanks, y’all.

First Syndication! Wow, thank you! Our longtime friends and colleagues at DEPESHA, “the leading Russian expatriate culture magazine at the intersection of fashion, arts, and literature”, generously opted to syndicate the reviews from Moscow Fashion Week. Give DEPESHA some well-deserved attention, too.
